My Adventure in Cooking (Exciting, Huh?)

Purple Jeans

jeans:f21, boots:blowfish, jacket:express

I don't think you can tell that these jeans are purple in the pictures, but they are. I wanted purple jeans for so long (don't ask why) and I found these last year at a Plato's Closet (love this store). I had to run some errands yesterday, so I just threw this on. This jacket is the only military look I have in my closest and I love it.

It's Music Time

She has a unique voice. My boyfriend thinks she's the best singer in the world (um i don't think so). She has a new cd coming out this February.I do like her voice. Check out her new single.

In your face Michael Kors (I still love you though:-))

Okay, I know I'm a couple weeks late on this but it came to my mind again so I decided to post it. I was highly upset that Mondo lost to Gretchen on Project runway a while back (don't get me started). Michael Kors made a comment that no one would wear this dress by Mondo, well Heidi said she would and look here she is wearing it (slightly altered from original design). You can see the article and the original dress (here), if you care to see more.(:

Just By Accident

necklace:dana buchman
Finally, a picture outside my room (thanks sister). This photo happen totally by accident, because my sister took it when I wasn't ready but even though it's slightly blurry I love it. I also took another pic of the necklace up close, since I love this necklace. I wore this outfit to church and I love these shoes with this outfit. I used to wear this outfit with another pair of shoes, but this is the perfect match for me(:

It's recipe time

About a couple of weeks ago, I went to a food tasting at Panera with my friend, Ashley & my sister, Chris. They gave us this recipe for Cinnamon Raisin French Toast, which I have yet to try but I thought  I would share because it seems so good. Maybe you'll even beat me in making it (if so let me know how it is:). I hope to make it soon. I'll post pics when I do.

Ingredients
8 slices 1/2" thick Panera Cinnamon Raisin Bread (We tasted this and it's delicious, you can get it for like $3 at Panera)
4 T. melted butter
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. heavy cream
3 large eggs
1 T. honey
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1.2 tsp. salt

1.) For the french toast custard, combine using a hand whisk the milk, heavy cream, eggs, honey, vanilla extract and salt. This custard can be made well in advance. Give a brisk stir before making the toast.
2.) Transfer the custard to a casserole or open shallow dish for dipping.
3.) Dip one slice into the custard and turn over after about 15 seconds. Transfer the slice to a plate while dipping another slice into the custard.
4.) Place a large skillet on a medium fire. Allow the pan to heat thoroughly before pouring 1 tablespoon of the melted butter into the pan.
5.) Place both slices carefully  into the skillet and cook on each side until golden brown or about 2 minutes.
6.) Repeat steps 3-5 until all the french toast is cooked.
7.) An optional step is to place each finished french toast  onto a baking sheet in a preheated oven until all are ready to serve.
Serves 4, serve warm with real maple syrup (Panera Bread. All rights reserved)

My Black Friday Adventure

Okay, so the adventure happened in my room. I bought all my Christmas gifts online this year. I really wanted to experience the crazy rush at midnight, but by 10:30 I was feeling tired so that ended that. I also found that there were great deals online, so why not stay in my warm bed I told myself, brilliant idea. But unfortunately I had to leave that warm bed and head to the mall anyways, not for fun but for work. Actually it wasn't that bad and I got to leave early. I think it's safe to say that this Black Friday was a success.(:

Did I ever Mention I love Dresses

dress: target, cardigan:h&m, button down shirt & earrings:ny&company, necklace:buckle
2nd day of work and my feet are killing me. I need some Dr. Scholl's inserts for my shoes and that would solve everything. I'm not prepared for Black Friday, but can you really ever be prepared?...Nope. Now it's time to prepare for tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving!

Feeling Good in My New Boots

jeans: aeropostale, shirt & cardigan :jcrew, scarf:h&m, boots and belt:f21

Well, today was my day off and I spent it cleaning because my Aunt is coming for Thanksgiving. I just felt like putting together an ensemble with my  new boots from Forever 21 that I got a couple of weeks ago. I also tried the signature bun by Sydney from the Daybook, she has a tutorial on her blog. I love her blog so definitely check it out. My hair is not as long as her, but that's okay I think I still achieved the look.

I need to get used to this...

dress:ann taylor, jacket:f21
Today, I start my part-time job at Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th. (Yay, for a little bit of money) Unfortunately the dress code is black and white. I was looking forward to having somewhere to go and get dressed for each day. Yesterday, I decided to wear this black and white ensemble just to start getting in the mindset of this is all I get to wear to work.  Okay, I guess I still have the occasional opportunities to wear color other times (Even though I do have a lot of black/dark clothing). Oh well, at least I'm getting paid(:

November 19, 2010

Bored? Check this out.

In my never-ending list of blogs that I am looking through, I found a post here about the fashion studio on H&M website. Try it yourself here. Here are some of the looks I put together, it's just something fun to do (too me at least). (:

New blog look

Well, if you haven't noticed I changed the look of my blog. (I did the same to my fashion blog.) I'm the kind of person that will tweak things until I love it. I think I'm pretty much there with both of my blogs. Since I have so much time on my hands these days, I've been reading sooo many blogs. I'm following 11 fashion blogs and 8 personal blogs as of right now. The fashion blogs update everyday, while the personal blogs not so much. I probably should stop looking at new blogs and stick with the ones I have or before you know it my list will grow to like 50. (And then I would be wasting so much time on the computer). I'm so happy I start my part-time job next week. Not only will I have a little pocket change (since all I have at the moment is $45), but I will have something to do. Oh, and another thing I keep forgetting is Thanksgiving is next week. Crazy how time flies by, it's almost 2011! Thanksgiving will be different this year though, because sadly my sister won't be there. Oh, the life of a college basketball star.(: We will definitely miss her.

Too much time on my hands...

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Maybe I have to much time on my hands, but I've really been getting into the blogging world. I've joined a variety of sites over this past week that have to do with fashion or blogging. (I really need to start working asap.)

Who wants to go shopping?

dress:target, cardigan:h&m, belt:don't remember, legging:f21, shoes:target

I really need to stay away from the mall, but my sister wanted me to come with her. Who can say know to their sister who wants to go shopping...not me.  I had a revelation today that I love Marshalls. Great prices for designer clothes, who can beat that. So my shopaholic self put a pair of amazing Steve Madden shoes on layaway. I start work Monday, which means paycheck is coming, which means I can get these shoes. Oh how I love Marshalls. When I pay for the shoes, I will definitely being posting a picture. They're so amazing and not what I usually get, but I'm trying to change my style so they fit perfectly. Anyways, I wore this to go shopping. I love this dress. Usually I wear this dress with a cardigan but lately I've been wearing with the cardigan underneath.

My 5 Favorite Beauty Products

Lancome Blush

Mary Kay Eyesicles Island Bronze

Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black
Mary Kay Nourishine Lip Gloss in Fancy Nancy
Milani Color Brilliance Eye Pencil in 04 Purple
I am not a huge makeup person. There was a phase where I was wearing a little bit of makeup everyday during college. Now it's mainly when I feel like it or special occasions. So far these are my favorite products. I used to sell Mary Kay products (for like a nano-second) and I love their lip gloss and eyesicles. What I like about the eyesicles is that you just swipe a little bit on your fingers, and put it on your eyelids in one motion and your done. Fast and simple. The color brilliance eye pencil is amazing! I love this purple eyeliner, I got it from Target. As my sister told me, I got to have the blush. Lancome blushes are really nice, I got mine from Macys. I would love to hear some of your favorites or maybe your top 5 beauty products.

I like Bows

I need two things, a better camera and a camera person. I will probably keep saying these two things until they somehow magically happen. (: I love bows, they make me smile. I couldn't resist this blouse when I saw it in New York at Forever 21. Remember when I talked about the basic wardrobe, in particular about shoes? (You can read it here) Well, this is a pair of my flats. It's hard to tell in this pic (sorry it's dark), but I love these because they're patent, which I love patent leather shoes.
What I wore: Sweater by H&M, Blouse by Forever21,
Skirt from Thrift Store & Bag from Target

Headband from Forever21

Week 2 begins...

Well, the first week of my challenge has ended and so far I haven't eaten any fast food or drank any soda. I was tempted to drink soda, when my mom sent me to the store and I also had to get a soda for her. I wanted one so bad! But, I resisted.(:  Now as week 2 begins, I have some plans. First, I want to do some form of exercise 3 times this week, preferably Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Second, I want to drink two  bottles of water everyday. Now this is hard for me, because all I ever drink really is juice (Welch's grape juice is the best!). Third, I'm trying to eat breakfast everyday, because I know that it is important to start the day with a great meal. So there you have it, my 3 goals of this week. Today, I did wake up and eat a bowl of cereal, Honey Bunches of Oats. I'm off to a good start...maybe I should go exercise now.

A Pop of Color

I love this dress! I always wanted a winter white dress and I found this one at Ross.
What I Wore: Dress by Just Taylor, Cardigan by Gap, Belt from Forever21, & Shoes by Steve Madden

Shoes,Shoes,Shoes...

My wonderful boyfriend gave me money to go shopping.( Isn't he amazing? ) This time around I decided to focus on shoes. Everyone needs to find the nearest DSW, because is it the best shoe store (in my opinion). I found these awesome Steve Madden shoes on the sale rack for $41.00, normally $69 at DSW, originally $120. A steal?...I think so. I also got a pair of Elle boots from Kohls for $50. I love wearing them with my Calvin Klein sweater dress.

The Wonderful World of Etsy

I went through this phase of wearing headbands all the time. A lot of times headbands give me a terrible headache after wearing them all day, until I found Yellow Elm. Their headbands are all handmade with felt and they're super comfortable.(: I own 4 and will be getting more. Check out the one I wore yesterday and check out their website, http://www.etsy.com/shop/yellowelm and become a fan on Facebook, they have giveaways all the time. Also check out http://www.etsy.com/ for handmade items.

Operation A Healthier Me

Last week as I bit into a juicy burger for lunch, I felt sick to my stomach. For some reason I couldn't finish it, despite my craving for it just moments before. All in that one moment I questioned the reason why I ate things that were not good for me. But it's so good, I tell myself. (: It is so good but I know I need to be a lot healthier than I am now, because one day in the future it will all catch up to me. After reading about my friend's fast from fast food ( check out her blog, http://mylifeperpetua.blogspot.com/), I decided to do my own fast. For one month I will be eating no fast food. Aah! This will be so hard because, I love fast food! Follow me throughout this month as I try to exercise and eat better. Maybe it will inspire you to do the same. (: Day 1 ends, 29 left!

Fall is Finally Here...

The days are starting to get chiller, meaning I'm breaking out the tights.
